What? No Christmas?

Nope! Not today, my crafty friends.  Today, I am sharing a birthday card I made for my daughter's friend who just turned 16!!  Ahh, sweet 16!  Seems like eons ago for me!

Anyway, I took a break from the red and green; and made this card using the fabulous stamp from Wee Stamps called Summer Fairy, which you can find in the Whimsy Store by clicking here.

This beauty is colored in Copics and the edges of the image are distressed in Studio G Chalk Ink.  I added some purple Spica pen to the outline of her wings and her dress *not sure if you can see that, though!*.  I used shimmery cardstock from the DCWV Shimmer Stack and designer papers from Graphic 45 called Violet Bouquet.  I cut out the number 16 with my Cricut Expression and added a purple ribbon from my stash.  The flowers are a mix of Recollections and Bazzill Paper Flowers.  I sprayed them all with some Shimmer Spritz to add a bit of pizazz!  There are a few Recollections self-adhesive rhinestones in three corners as well.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Make a Wish this Christmas

Good morning friends!

What's your wish this Christmas?  I realize as I get older that my wishes for Christmas have nothing to do with things that you can buy in the store; although a few crafty items under the tree wouldn't hurt ;)

I have a card to share this morning using this adorable stamp called Dawn Hokey Pokey from Sweet Stamps that I recently won.  I just love her to bits, and although the detail was pretty tiny, she was not has hard to color as I thought she would be.

Precious-ness if you ask me!!  Of course, she is colored in Copics, and has some heated up Liquid Applique on the trim of her coat and the balls at the end of her stockings.  The papers are a mix of Bazzill cardstock and the new Authentique collection called Festive.  I used the last of my American Crafts red and white twine as well as an old ribbon from my stash.  The button came in a Paper Studio button pack from Hobby Lobby.  There are Liquid Pearls in white to mimic snow around her, Stickles in Yellow and Stardust for the star wand and snowflakes, as well as some Polar White Flower Soft for snow beneath her feet.  I then used my Fiskars punch to add a cute little open scallop border.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

You Warm My Heart

Good morning friends!

Stopping in quickly to share another Christmas card featuring an adorable stamp from Gorjuss.  Sorry about the quickie photo shot from my phone ...still hoping Santa brings me that new cam ;)

I just love this girl - so sweet - and is colored in Copics.  I used DCWV card stock and some My Mind's Eye dp.  The red panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  Since I ran out of my American Crafts twine, I swiped the red/white twine off my daughter's cupcake box from the bakery ;)  I used my Cricut Expression to cut out that super snowflake and heart; and layered them together to make a cute little embellie.

And here is the inside:

I cut out another heart to match the one in the front and used a sentiment from the MFT PI Heart Warmer Boy stamp set, which I thought worked perfectly with her.

Thanks for visiting me today and leaving me some love.  Your comments always make me smile and are appreciated!

Warm Winter Wishes

Good morning friends!

Hard to believe that the big day is just 2 weeks away.  Yikes!!  I still have sooooo much to do and so many cards to make!  What about you?  Almost done or are you in panic mode too?

I got a request from a friend to whip up something with a penguin and, of course, the first image that came to mind, was this little cutie from Bugaboo Stamps:

He's colored in Copics and I've added some Diamond Stickles on the trim of his hat.  I've made those marshmallows nice and fluffy with some heated up Liquid Applique.  The papers are a mix of Paper Studio Kraft cardstock and DCWV cardstock.  The dp is from the Paper Studio Santa and Friends collection.  Found some pink and white American Crafts twine and added it for some texture.  The sentiment is from a LaLa Land stamp set that I thought fit the image perfectly.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day ! Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek :)  Your visit and comments mean so much to me!

Snow Friend Like You

Good morning and TGIF!!!  I am so looking forward to this weekend:  gonna finish decorating the house for Christmas and have my dear friend Gina taking a trip up to get our craft on!

During her last visit, she gave me an early Christmas present:  this sweet, little Penny Black stamp!!  I absolutely LOVE her *thanks, girl !!*

Isn't she just a big bowl of precious-ness?!  Well, I had to ink her up in some Copics, and also added some Liquid Applique to her hat and dress trim.  Her little snow buddy is colored in Copics as well.  I've added some Flower Soft in Polar White beneath the two friends :)  The papers are a mix of Bazzill cardstock and some new paper from the American Crafts Holly Days collection.  Had to put some American Crafts twine in there and secure it all with a new Paper Studio Dress It Up Christmas Potpourri button.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Hoping you enjoy your weekend!

Nothing Like Cocoa with Friends

Good morning my crafty friends!!

I just realized its been a couple weeks since my last post!  My oldest daughter scored a leading role as Susan Walker in her High School production of Miracle on 34th Street *beaming..so proud of her*, and the week before Thanksgiving, our house was all hustle and bustle with play rehearsals and performances .  After that, we went right into Thanksgiving where we hosted 13 here this year at our home.  Crazy but wonderful!!

Needless to say, my crafting had been put on hold!

Felt good to get back in the saddle and whip up a cute little creation using this absolutely ADORABLE ginger from Whimsie Doodles.  He was offered in their Christmas section as freebie.  Thank you WD!

This little cutie is colored in Copics *of course ;) *.  I then added some liquid applique to his marshmallows and puffed them up with my new Recollections heating tool *thanks hunny*.  I also added some liquid applique on him to mimic frosting.  On his button nose and candy cane, I added some glossy accents.  The card stock is a mix of Paper Studio and Bazzil.  The snowflake embossing behind him comes from a Cuttlebug eb folder.  I used a Fiskar Punch for the krafty border.  The delicious gingham ribbon is from Paper Studio and the button is from Paper Studio's Dress It Up Christmas button collection.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you'll visit again real soon!

Love, Peace and Joy

Good morning crafty friends!

Well the break from the Christmas cards didn't last long AT ALL!  Back on track, and made another one with this adorable Tilda :)

She's colored in Copics and has a little bit of Sharpie White Poster Paint pen on her cheeks.  I distressed her and the sentiment with Studio G pink chalk ink.  I've used some Paper Studio Kraft cardstock and papers also from the new Paper Studio collection called Santa and Friends.  I've used my Provocraft snowflake die to create double layered snowflakes; one is centered with a glittery Doodlebug Designs button and American Crafts twine, while the other is centered with some pink Liquid Pearls.  I've also used my handy Fiskars punch for that pretty open scallop border!

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Taking a Break

Good morning friends!  Happy Monday and all that jazz.  Hoping each one of you did something fun this past weekend - maybe even got a little crafty.

I was able to sit down and take a break this weekend from the Christmas cards I've been banging out.  Felt kinda nice to just do something non-Christmas-y.

I had to whip up a birthday card for my brother since my birthday stash is kinda lo at the mo.

I was super happy to use up some old DCWV paper to go along with this little guy, which I thought worked perfectly.  If I recall correctly, it was part of The Sweet Stack.  I also used some Kraft cardstock from The Paper Studio.  There is some flax colored twine from The Twinery and the chocolate button is from the Dress it Up Christmas Cozy Mix of buttons I got from Hobby Lobby.  I apologize for the picture - Santa really needs to bring Momma a new camera ;)

Hope you have a fabulous day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Beary Merry Christmas

Good morning all you crafty peeps!

Any of you that know me or follow my blog know that I don't usually ink up any animals.  I'm not really sure why...maybe its the fur that intimidates me.  But, this adorable little guy had me at hello, and I just had to step out of my comfort box for just a wee bit.

I colored up this beary sweet little guy with Copics and added some Sharpie white poster paint pen to his cheeks for definition.  He has some Diamond Stickles on the fur of his hat.  The papers are a mix of DCWV cardstock and designer paper from My Mind's Eye Christmas Wish.  I used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder to emboss the light blue panel, and a Provo Craft Snowflake #2 die to cut that tiny snowflake in the upper corner.  I added a drop of Ruby Red Liquid Pearls to the snowflake since I'm all out of .  I finished it off with some American Crafts twine and a button from stash.

Under the Wire

Good morning all my crafty friends!  Here in Jersey we're getting our first snow of the season! LOVE it!  What a great day to bake and make some Christmas cards!!

I used the current sketch over at the MFT blog as inspiration for my card today.  It was so much fun to play with!

Here is the sketch #149 for this week:

And here is my creation using the PI Heart Warmer Boy stamp set :

This little cutie is colored in Copics and has some Sharpie white poster paint pen to accent his cheeks.  The snowdrift is some glittered cardstock from DCWV.  I also used some new papers from the Santa and Friends Paper Studio collection.  I added some Diamond Stickles to his snowballs and Liquid Pearls behind him for "snow".  I cut out a snowflake using my Cricut Expression and finished it off with a button from my stash.  I tied it all together with some red and white twine from American Crafts.

Fa La La La La

Good morning and happy Saturday!! I'm so happy to have it made it to the weekend - looking forward to hitting up Hobby Lobby for some crafty goodies and sitting back and crafting *if the girls will let me!*

I had time to get another Christmas card done and used this adorable stamp from La La Land Crafts.

Unfortunately, my camera is not working :( so I had to resort to using my cell phone to take this pic - which didn't come out too good at all :(  Maybe you could tell Santa I've been a good girl this year and he'll bless me with a new cam *wink, wink*

These gorgeous papers are a gift from my very close friend, Gina.  They're the new Christmas line from Paper Studio called Christmas on Amesbury Street.  They're so vintage and fabulous - I love them!!!  *thanks gf*   The cardstock is by DCWV - a mix of the Jewel collection and The Linen Closet collection.  I used Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress ink to distress the image.  The polka dot strip behind her is some Washi Tape - love that stuff!  There are some Maya Road tickets that I stamped on, a Prima rose and some Offray mini red roses!

Happy Birthday

Good morning all my crafty friends!

Had to take a break from my Christmas card frenzy and whip up a quick little birthday card for a niece of ours.

I love this little cutie from Stampendous.  Isn't she too adorable?  I colored her in Copics and then added some Diamond Stickles to the trim and furballs on her party hat.  The papers are a mix of Wassau cardstock and DCWV The Glam Gal collection which are just perfect for any little girl.  I used some purple ribbon from my stash along with some American Crafts twine.  A glittery button from Doodlebug finished it off perfectly.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Good morning everyone!  Hopefully this finds you doing well and staying healthy.  Our whole house finally is finished with that nasty stomach virus and flu that has been going around in our neck of the woods!

I've been trying to pump out as many Christmas cards as possible, and work on some card orders that have come in recently!

Here is one of those Christmas cards using this gorgeous Tilda!!   She has been colored in Copics and then lightly distressed using my Tim Holtz Distress Tool.  The papers are a mix of Wassau textured cardstock and some very old DCWV The Christmas Stack.  I've added some Liquid Pearls to accent the snow flakes and the sentiment banner.  I've used some seam binding and green/white twine from my stash, as well as a beautifully glittered, white poinsettia from Recollections that I've been hoarding for some time now.

Cheeky Christmas

Morning all!!  How's your week going so far?  Hopefully all is good in the hood!  Mine has been very busy but crafty, so this Momma is one happy chick!

Today I have a cute and quick little card I made for that special man in your life.  Or maybe for one of your girlfriends that is not afraid to show her sassy side!

In any event, I used the sketch from the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge over at The Greeting Farm and this adorable little Cheeky stamp!

LOVE her, don't you?!  I went kinda clean and simple and just let her and the paper do the talking.  Speaking of paper, the papers are a mix of DCWV cardstock and My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland.  I cut her and the frame behind  her using two different Spellbinders dies; and the white strip behind her is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder!  Up in the corner, to finish it off, I used some Recollections self-adhesive pearls.

Here comes Santa Claus

Well not yet but I'm amazed at how fast its approaching.  And scared, too, lol!

I have been making Christmas cards in an attempt to beat the rush and decided to use this adorable Santa Tilda that has been screaming to get inked!

Little Tilda is colored in Copics and then I used a White Sharpie Poster Paint Pen for her cheeks.  Her fluff on her Santa hat has been smothered in Diamond Stickles!  I used some old Martha Stewart Christmas papers along with DCWV cardstock.  The mistletoe and loopy circle die cut were cut with my Cricut Expression.  I then added some Xmas Red Stickles to the berries.  The green craft seem binding is also Martha Stewart and the red/white twine is from American Crafts.  The big red button I've had in my stash for a long time and was the perfect addition.

What about you?  Have you started those Christmas cards yet??

Hoping you have a fabulous and crafty weekend!

Spooktacular Challenge at Little Miss Muffet!

Good morning all my crafty peeps!

I was super excited to have been asked to Guest Design over at Little Miss Muffet's challenge blog for the current challenge which starts today!

And what exactly is that challenge you might ask?  Well, as Halloween is right around the corner, the theme is "Spooktacular"!  Fun and festive, right??

If you don't have a LMMS image, no worries!!  You can stop by the store by clicking here.  They have some pretty adorable digi's and stamps that are perfect for this fortnight's challenge *and some on sale, too*!

For today's creation, I used the precious digital image called Swings 'n Slides Lil' Spook:

So cute, right??  I would give this little cutie some extra candy if he showed up at my door, for sure! :)

I printed him out and colored him in Copics.  The papers are a mix of DCWV cardstock and some very, very old K&Company Halloween papers that I have had in my stash forever.  The Halloween ribbon and button are stash items, too!  I cut a cobweb corner SVG file using my Cricut Expression and used some American Crafts twine to finish it off!

The winner of the challenge will receive a $10 gift certificate to the LMMS store which you can use toward some new digi's, rubbah or toward some cool dies.  You have nearly two weeks to play along!  We hope to see you there!

Christmas with Edwin

I just saw on Facebook someone post a Christmas countdown - and did you know there are like 60 something days until Christmas??  WHAT???  Ruh-roh!  Gotta get those Christmas cards done then!

I used this adorable Edwin and Christmas-fied him up.  Why not right?

Here is he - all decked out in Copics, some Diamond stickles on his wings and a Sharpie White poster paint pen for his cheeks.  The papers are a mix of textured Wassau cardstock and My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland designer papers.  I used up some old buttons in my stash along with The Twinery twine.  Some adorable Christmas tree die cuts and a sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things finished it off.

Have you got your costume ready?

Out of our three girls, we've gotten two down!  One of my daughters has decided to be Tinkerbell and her twin sister is going as a 50's girl.  So super sweet.  Now I just have to get my teenager done, and I'm ready for Halloween.  I'm feeling ahead of the game this year...woot, woot!

'Course all that costume shopping put Momma in the mood to make a Halloween card, and this adorable little Tilda helped me do just that!

I used some old Halloween designer paper and card stock scraps that have been in my stash for years  - I think it might be K&Company, but don't quote me on that!  The black and white twine is from American Crafts and the black button was another stash item!  The black self-adhesive pearls are Recollections, and, of course, she is colored in Copics!  I also put some foam squares underneath her to make her pop off the card!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a fabulous day!

Rock that Bookmark

Afternoon peeps!!  I have another bookmark to share with you today.  My girls came home from school yesterday and saw the Maggie one I had myself, and of course, they wanted one too!  If you missed that post, click here to see it!

The current monthy challenge over at Some Odd Girl is "Ombre".  Any way you can use it on your project is a-ok!  The spark went off in my head and thankfully this time it worked out on paper how I imagined, and I'm so happy with how it turned out:

I used the Music Mae stamp set from SOG for my daughter's bookmark, which you can find in the SOG store by clicking here.  I colored her hair ombre-style with E and B/BG copics.  The music notes and sentiment came with the stamp set.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp up the background with both and then distressed the edges of the bookmark in Studio G turquoise chalk ink.  There are three Queen & Co. Twinkle Goosebumps in lime green framing her head.  To finish it off, I used a velvety trim ribbon!

Hoping my teen daughter loves this bookmark as much as I do, or I just might confiscate it ;)

Book Lovin'

Aside  from coloring and crafting, reading is right up there on my list of things that I absolutely LOVE to do.  And I'm one of those readers that absolutely refuses to buy a Nook or Kindle for many reasons; one of them being that I love bookmarks as much as a good novel!

I picked up a new book yesterday called The Paris Wife and am lovin' it!!  Click here if you wanna check it out for yourself!

Unfortunately the time came yesterday when I had to stop reading (boo!), and of course, what do I do??  Tear off some paper and stick it in my place.  Totally unacceptable!  LOL, so this morning, I made myself a new bookmark!  Why buy a bookmark when you can easily make one??

The current challenge over at Magnolia-licious is to NOT use any designer/pattern paper.  So, I took a piece of shimmer cardstock from DCWV, rounded the corners, and stamped off a wood-mounted, Recollections, music-note stamp in Rich Cocoa by Memento.  I then distressed the bookmark in Vintage Photo by Tim Holtz.  I cut a doily in half and distressed that as well.  On top of the doily, I glued down a white feather and then pop dotted this little cutie on top.  To finish off the bookmark, I added a self-adhesive rhinestone swirl, and some pink silk ribbon from my stash!

Now I have something pretty to enjoy besides my new book :)

Bypassing Fall

Hi all my crafty friends!! It's been months since I've been creating and blogging.  Had a fabulous summer with the kiddies and have been trying to get back into the swing of school and activities.

I was so excited to FINALLY be able to sit down and craft for a few hours and when the Mojo strikes, you just gotta roll with it, right?  Right!  So, there were a few challenge blogs that jump started my Mojo block and I decided to get a jump on my Christmas cards!

You'll have to forgive me for the pic - I seemed to have lost my cam and had to resort to using my cell phone, lol....Isn't she just precious, tho?  She's from Bugaboo and her name is Ava Christmas- Mistletoe Fairy, which you can find in the Bugaboo store by clicking here.

I used some papers from the Authentique Festive collection, DCWV The Linen Closet Collection and Wassau textured cardstock.  I cut her using some Nestibilities dies and then embossed her on my cuttlebug.  All the papers, including little Miss Ava, are distressed in Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I used a Fiskars punch and some adorable polka dot washi tape behind her.  Now, I ran out of red pearls, so instead of buying some more, I just used my R29 Copic and colored up some white ones I had in my stash.  After coloring up the holly berries, I added some Glossy Accents to them.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek!!    Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

With Silver Bells?  Nope, not mine, lol!  I definitely do not have a green thumb!

Today I am excited to share a card I made for the Photo Inspiration Challenge over at Some Odd World using an oldie but goodie Some Odd Girl digi image called Garden Mae:

I love these papers by Simple Stories; so bright and cheery with so many pretty patterns.  I went a little distress happy using my Tim Holtz distress tool.  Clipped one of the tags that came with the paper pack with a mini clothespin.  The button was a plain chipboard button that I glued some paper to and sanded down to create a button to match.  I rolled the mini roses by hand and glued some pearls in the center.  The flax colored twine is from The Twinery and I threw in a doily for some girly fun to finish it off!

Girly Birthday

Good morning peeps!  How are things going in your neck of the woods?  Hopefully your week has started off well!

I have a birthday card to share with you today.  Something a little different than my usual style.  I have to admit, it was so much fun creating this one :)

I absolutely ADORE these papers by Authentique.  They scream girly and make you wanna pull out those frilly froo-froo embellies like I've added here :)  This little cutie was colored in Copics and then distressed with some pink Studio G Chalk Ink.  The shimmery cream and charcoal textured cardstock is from Wassau.  The pink rose and clock are both by Recollections.  I created the rolled roses by hand since I don't have a die for that and then added pearls in the center.  The self-adhesive pearls in the upper corner and on the sentiment are by Paper Studio.  I also did some punchwork with a Fiskars punch.  The sentiment is from the 21 Special Occasion stamp set by Cardmaking & Papercraft.  The lace trim was in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Sunday folks!

I was super thrilled to find out that The Greeting Farm was having a contest for kids only.  What an awesome thing to do for the kids and such a fabulous way to get some quality time in coloring together.

My little sweetie, Virginia, is 7 years old and loves coloring and drawing!  She was super thrilled about this contest to say the least!!

Here is her creation using one of The Greeting Farm's stamps.  She even tried to fussy cut, lol.

Make Everyday Magic!

Happy Saturday and Good Morning friends!

With the weather being brutally hot and humid this week, I had some more time to play in my beloved crafty space!  I am definitely NOT complaining :)

The challenge over at Some Odd World this week is to make something with embossed paper or cardstock, and I was happy to whip out my dusty embossing folders!

I used the current Deconstructed Sketch as inspiration for my creation.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card using the gorgeous Fairy Magic stamp from Some Odd Girl:

Isn't she just magical??   I colored this beauty in Copics.  The papers are a mix of DCWV The Linen Closet collection and Family Ties by Pebbles.  I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder for the strip behind her.  The floral squares have foam squares underneath to pop them up a bit.  The tiny green bling was in my stash and I used some black Memento ink for the sentiment that came with the stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you make some magic this weekend!

First for Everything

I realized, sadly, that I always color my images with the same E00, E11, E13 combo for their skin.

My friend Trina, and fellow crafter, is amazing with her Copics - especially with coloring African-American skin tones.  Click here to go to her blog and check out it out for yourself!

I'm always in awe after leaving her blog wondering how it is she does it.  Well luckily for me, she listed the Copic combo that she used on one of her cards which gave me the incentive and inspiration I needed to give darker skin a try!!!  Thanks Trina :D

This little cutie is from The Greeting Farm and I just love her!!  I used the DCWV The Citrus Stack Collection and some orange glossy cardstock from an old Martha Stewart The Essentials Collection, which worked perfectly together.  There are some flowers from my stash, and some new Goosebumps from Queen & Co. in lime green.  In the corner, I stamped off a sentiment from the Cardmaking & PaperCrafts Special Occasion stamp set in Rich Cocoa by Memento.

The Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at The Greeting Farm this week is to use Punches and/or Dies.

Hope you'll whip yours out and play along! Have a great day everyone!

Strawberry Fields Forever

Happy Saturday my crafty friends!

We've had a terribly humid and rainy week here in Jersey - definitely NOT beach or park weather - but perfect weather for crafting :)

The Magnolia-licious Challenge blog's current challenge is "Some Like It Hot".  I was inspired to use some "hot" colors on my card - something I very rarely ever do.

I colored up this sweet Tilda with Copics and also put some glossy accents on her ripe strawberries.  The papers are a mix of Wassau cardstock and the Citrus Stack by DCWV.  The sentiment is from an MFT PI stamp set called Pucker Up!.  I used a Fiskars punch and double knotted up some beautiful hand-dyed crinkle ribbon that I won in a RAK.  There is some light orange self-adhesive bling up in the top left corner.

We're getting rain again today, so it looks like more crafting is in my future ;)  Hope you all enjoy your weekend - rain or shine :)

Keep on Rockin'

Good morning friends!

I'm so excited because I finally got a chance to haul up in my crafty space and create with a new stamp that I picked up from Some Odd Girl.  Her name is Music Mae and I just love her to bits! She reminds me a bit of myself when I was younger and hip --always listening to music, playing music and aspiring to be a radio jock on the airwaves.

For the month of July, SOG has a fabby sketch that I was totally inspired by.  Here's a peek at
it:

This is what I came up:

Isn't she just awesome?!  And she was so much fun to ink up with my Copics!!!!  I used some new papers from Simple Stories called Summer Fresh.  I also put some Glossy Accents on her beautiful green eyes to accentuate them.  Last but not least, a few Twinkle Goosebumps by Queen & Co. to add some texture and bling ;)

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Hope your day is a good one!

Happy Dad's Day

Happy Wednesday everyone!! Hope your week is going well so far.  We're getting closer to the weekend - yay!

I love celebrating the men in my life just not making masculine cards.  Eek!!  They are such a huge challenge for me since I can't add a bow or flower in any open space.  Thankfully, I only have a couple more to go and then I'm done! Phew!

Today I'm sharing a card for Dad's Day using this cute little Edwin.

I used up some old, and I mean old, Making Memories paper from the Eliza collection.  I've distressed everything in Memento Desert Sand and colored him in Copics.  I've used a Sharpie White Poster Paint pen for his cheeks and the highlights on the rose he's holding.  The tiny blue brad was in my stash, too!

Thanks for stopping today and taking a peek.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Love Is The Best Medicine

Good morning everybody!!

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun?  Maybe get in your crafty space??

I have been working on this card in piecemail since the latest MFT sketch hit the SCS forum last Wednesday!  What a busy week/weekend its been!!

I'm thrilled to finally get to show you what I whipped up:

A friend of mine just recently had surgery, and so I thought this little cutie from the PI Girl Doctor stamp set was absolutely perfect to send her some get well wishes.  I colored her in Copics - mostly using the C's.  I used some Wassau and Recollections cardstock, as well as some gorgeous papers from the MME Breeze collection.  There are some self-adhesive faux black pearls from Recollections and some yellow/white twine from American Crafts.  The button and crocheted flower were in my stash.

Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead of you!! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Father's Day TGF-Style

Morning friends!!

Have a quick post today to share a quick card I made for Father's Day using Edward from The Greeting Farm.

I kept it rather simple since the chevrons were quite busy; and just distressed and inked the edges of all the papers in some black Making Memories ink.  Less is sometimes more, right?  ;)  The papers are a mix of DCWV and MME Breeze collection.  I added some light blue self-adhesive gems from Paper Studio in the corners and near the sentiment to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Bear Hugs

Do you remember ever getting asked, "Do you like kisses or hugs better?".  My answer would always be "both", lol.  But I'd never turn down a great hug, thats for sure!!

My family just spent a long weekend at my brother's house in Williamsburg, Virginia.  It was our first family trip in years!!  We had such a great time visiting with family and seeing the sights of the town.  My brother and his wife were kind enough to open their hearts and their home to us during our little mini vacay, so I wanted to send them a card to thank them for allowing us to stay with them and showing us a wonderful time.

I used the new Wednesday Stamp Club sketch for MFT as inspiration along with the PI Bear Hugs stamp set from MFT as well.  This is what I came up with for their card:

Isn't she just the sweetest thing???  I used some new papers from Simple Stories called Vintage  Bliss.  The cardstock is a mix of DCWV The Linen Closet Collection and DCWV Self-Adhesive Textured Brights matstack.  My little cutie is colored in Copics.  I added a Sukura Gelly Roll pen in White to add some polka dots to her leggings and her matching bow.  I've also given her and her little teddy some cheeks with the same pen.  Up in the corner is the heart that was leftover from cutting out the SVG polaroid file on my Cricut Expression.  I added an EK Success puffy heart sticker in the center for dimension.  The sentiment was lightly inked in some teal Studio G Chalk Ink.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card using up some of the scraps from the front:

Hoping you all have a fabulous weekend ahead of you!!  Thanks for stopping by :)

How Do You?

Make a card for someone that you care about that you know is dying?  Well, that was my task at hand.

A friend of the family has been sent home today with Hospice care - she has been battling stomach cancer for a couple of years now, and it appears that her fight is coming to end.

She has been so wonderful to my family....she was at our wedding, at each christening for our children, made meals after I delivered them and after surgeries.  Always kind; always smiling and happy.

In her last days, I wanted her to know that we were thinking of her and sending her some love.

I used the adorable stamp from Elisabeth Bell called Spring Pick, which you can find in the Whimsy Stamp's store, by clicking here.  I colored her with Copics, added Pink Liquid Pearls to the flower centers, and also added some Glossy Accents to the cherries in her basket.  The corners were rounded with my Creative Memories corner rounder and softened with some Studio G chalk ink.  You'll have to forgive me, as I made the card, and snapped a pic late tonite without the best lighting :(  The papers are a mix of DCWV The Linen Closet and Authentique's Delightful collection.  I added some roses from Recollections and the green flower I had in my stash was centered with a K&Company pearl brad.  The butterfly is also from Recollections as are the pearls in the corners.  I used a Fiskars punch to finish it off.

I hope she sincerely knows that she was cared about...and tho I can't be with her, that I am there with her in spirit.

Isn't Mother's Day Over?

Perhaps, lol, but I'm still posting some cards that I didn't have time to show you all!

Short and sweet, here is one that I made for my mother using this adorable Maggie and last week's Cupcake Craft Challenge sketch.  Unfortunately, I didn't make it into the challenge, but the sketch is definitely a go-to:

Isn't she just too cute?!  The beautiful papers are a mix of Bazzill, DCWV and the Color Crush paper collection by American Crafts which is definitely one of my new faves.  The butterfly was intended to be a yellowish color, but ended up matching her hair :(  So instead of scrapping the image altogether, I just added some sparkle with an Atyou pen on the butterfly and on the trim of her dress.  I used a Fiskars punch and added some pearls at the top.  The flowers by her feet are Prima and the blue panel behind her was embossed with a flowery Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a wonderful day today!

The Day After

Good morning my crafty friends!!  Hoping all you mommies out there had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend complete with family, friends, good food, and laughter.  Hopefully, you got some time to unwind and relax as well.  Mine was wonderful; my family did everything to make it very special for me. :)

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my MIL using the new stamp from The Greeting Farm called Hatter Bean.   I used the sketch for the Garden Variety Challenge on their blog as inspiration:

This little cutie is colored in Copics.  I tried a new hair combination that I absolutely love to bits but forgot to write the colors down, lol!  I added some Cotton Candy stickles and Pink Liquid Pearls to the flowers on her bonnet.  The papers are a mix of Wassau cardstock and the new paper pad by Pebbles called Family Ties - yum-o!!  I added some self-adhesive pearls from Michael's on there as well.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  Have a wonderful day :)

Away too long!

Wow, I just realized that I have not made a card in months!!

My family got slammed with viruses and the flu, my twins' 7th birthday, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, my brother and his family visiting from out of state, and all sorts of stuff in between!!! Definitely no time to craft except to maybe color an image here or there.

I had to force myself to sit down and finally create!  Just in time to play along with the Double Take Tuesday Challenge over at The Greeting Farm.  This week is a fun sketch - so you know I had to play with that!!

I felt so rusty creating again - how I do I cut the paper?  Where should this go??  Does that look ok?   When all was said and done, I just had fun getting back into the swing of things and letting go.  Kept it simple - nothing fancy or fussy - just let this little cutie take center stage.

Hoping that you all have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

A True Love Story Never Ends

Good morning peeps!

I had found this old photo of me and my sweet hubby the other day - it was from our very first New Year's Eve together when were first dating.  Oh, we were so YOUNG in it, lol.  When did we grow up?  It is one of my favorites of the two of us together.  Unfortunately, we don't have too many pics of us together and not enough, IMO.

I had scanned this pic into the computer but had left it in the scanner.  Hubby then had to use the scanner for something else and apparently took the photo out and put it on top of my desk; front and center.  Walking in to my crafty space, that was the first thing I saw, the photo of us on my desk...and I thought to myself that I'd really love to hang that up somewhere...and thats when the Mojo hit!

So instead of a card today, or even a mini album, I'm sharing with you a layout that I created in between laundry and homemade pizza with the girls.

I used the current scrapbook sketch from The Pink Elephant' scrapbook sketch challenge #46 as insipration, which you can find by clicking here.  The papers are My Mind's Eye Pretty Please, which I just absolutely adore.  The flowers are a mix of Petaloo and Recollections.  I've stuck in some Tim Holtz tickets.  I also cut out some hearts with my Cricut Expression for the top right of the photo and in between those gorgeous flowers.

The sentiment was a die cut that came with the papers.  I stamped a sentiment from the MFT In My Garden Joline stamp set onto the die cut in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

Voila! Now all I have to do is frame it and hang it up :)  Since I don't really take much time to scrapbook anymore, I'm really happy with how it came out!

Hoping that you have a great day and you have a fantastic start to your week.  Thanks for stopping by and for taking a peek!
