Last Christmas Card

It just very well might be.  6 days left...a whole lot of baking, cooking and wrapping left to do before the big day, and in the midst of holiday prep, I not only have one, but two very sick little girls with bad sinus infections and a touch of the flu that is going around :(  Please pray that they can kick this before Christmas and that the rest of my household doesn't get it in the interim!!

Anyway, on to my card share for the day!  I used another Elizabeth Bell image which is just darling and paired it with an MFT sentiment from one of their sets.

She is colored in Copics and outlined in a Tim Holtz distress Marker.  Her trim and snow beneath her feet is slathered in Star Dust stickles.  Had to use my new go-to pad by MME called Winter Wonderland to pull it off and added some liquid pearls for "snowflakes".  I've had that gorgeous snowflake brad in my stash since last year and thought it went perfectly.  Some Peapod twine finishes it off.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

Cozy Christmas Wishes

Good morning!

12 days to go until the big day and I have so many cards left to do!  I'm feeling so behind this year - haven't finished shopping, haven't started wrapping and haven't baked one single cookie!  Please tell me that I'm not the only one.

I managed to bang out another card yesterday using this precious Elizabeth Bell image.  The sentiment is from MFT.

The papers are another oldie but goodie from MME from years ago.  The sheet music stamp is from Recollections and I inked that and the image in Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the snowflake and heart; and embossed the heart in a  Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and stuck a little self-adhesive heart gem in the center of the snowflake.  She has some Star Dust stickles on her fur trim.  The pink gingham ribbon was in my stash.

Well I hope that you're making headway on your holiday prep!  Have a wonderful day :)

Taking a Breather

....from all those Christmas cards and sneaking in a little birthday card for my sister-in-law :)

I used the current sketch over at MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club for inspiration and the MFT a la modes Big Birthday Wishes stamp set.  I found my DCWV The Glam Gal collection paper pad that I totally forgot I had!!  It's kinda like getting an early Christmas present.  I had forgotten how much I love these papers...so fun and girly; and perfect for a birthday card.

I completely paper pieced her and her balloons, added a Prima flower and a Doodlebug Designs button, some Queen & Co. twine and a few brads laying around in that stash of mine.  There is some pink chalk ink from Studio G around her just to give her a little something extra.

Hoping you have a good day ahead of you and thanks for stopping by for a peek :)

Move Over Victoria's Secret!

There's a new angel in town ;)

I'm super excited because my card for the Hol-ODD-day hop at Some Odd Girl was featured on their blog the other day!!  You can see the post by clicking here!  Woot, woot!! And for being featured, I won two new digi stamps from their store.   YAY!  It literally took me hours and the help of my teen to pick out the two, but I finally decided on a couple, one of them being Angel Kaylee.  Swoon :)))

I had to ink her right away and decided to play along with the Some Odd Girl December challenge which is a sketch challenge - and you all know how much I adore those.  Now I was quite disillusioned with the simplicity of the sketch - thought I had it in the bag until I started working on it, lol.

CAS cards are very challenging for me, but I felt like stepping out of my little decorated box and give it a try.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it.  I flipped the sketch :

Love and Joy Come to You

Morning my friends and Happy Sunday!

My one daughter has been home sick most of the week, and now it seems that one of my other daughter's is starting up with what the other twin had.  Yuck.  I haven't been able to get as crafty as I'd like, but was able to get this Christmas card done over the weekend when the hubs was home to help :)

I used this adorable Magnolia stamp and the current Sugar Bowl sketch as inspiration:

She and the Joy part of the TLC sentiment was colored in Copics.  I added some liquid pearls around her to mimic snowflakes and some Crystal stickles beneath her feet for snow.  There are Stardust stickles around the sentiment as well.  The ribbon is Martha Stewart Craft Seam Binding and the gorgeous white poinsettia was from a Michael's Recollections pack.  The red gems are a no-name....they came in one of those kits that have everything red from sequins to hearts.  The papers are from my new favorite collection by My Mind's Eye, Winter Wonderland.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

SOG 3rd Annual Hol-ODD-day Hop

Morning my crafty friends!

Some Odd Girl is hosting their 3rd Annual Hol-ODD-day Hop through tomorrow, December 6th.  All you have to do is link up your holiday themed project using one of their digis or stamps, as well as refer to their hop post which you can find here, to be in the running for some awesome prizes as well a chance to be featured on the SOG blog.

Since I'm a huge fan of their images, I wanted to play along and decided to use one of my old favorites, Tiny Tia Bow, and made her a little festive!

Isn't she adorbs in red and green??  I thought that coy little look matched this TLC sentiment perfectly.  Throw in some MME papers, The Twinery twine, a clear button...a little punching, and voila, Merry Christmas SOG style :)

Hope you all have a fabulous day ahead of you!

Believe

Can you seriously believe that Christmas is only 3 weeks away!!! How and when did that happen?!  Better start getting a move on with my cards....so many to do and so little time!!

Yesterday I was stuck in the house since my car had a flat....no better excuse but to stay in my crafty space, leave the cleaning for another day, and get busy on those cards!

I used the current sketch at Magnolia Down Under as inspiration for my card using this adorable little Santa Edwin:

I was able to use up some old K & Company Christmas paper from two years ago....love when I can use up those old scraps!  Little ol' Santa is colored in Copics and then I added some Star Dust stickles to his hat and trim.  There are some Cotton Candy stickles on the snowflake and a touch of Yellow stickles on his little buckle and brass buttons as well.    I stamped the Inkadinkado sentiment in Colorbox Cranberry Pigment Ink to match; and finished it off with some American Crafts twine and a button in my stash :)

I hope you all had a wonderful day today!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Happy Weekend my friends!!!

I got this new stamp set from my friend Gina, who has realized that I'm an MFT junkie, lol.  Thanks girl - I totally love this new little guy!!  The set is called Pure Innocence Heart Warmer Boy and lemme tell you, after inking him up, I so wanted to give him another inking.  Maybe today :)

Anyway, the new sketch is up on Splitcoaststampers for MFT, and since I haven't been able to play along in the past couple weeks, I thought I'd give the sketch a go.

I LOVE this new paper pad from My Mind's Eye called Winter Wonderland - they are just the yummiest!!  I pulled out some old felt snowflake trim and a button; and used some of my new green and white twine that I picked up in the MFT store as well.  The sentiment was distressed in some Colorbox Sky Blue pigment ink and he was colored in Copics.  Maybe I should have colored his scarf blue to match or perhaps a red....come to think of it, I don't know why I didn't so he's just all decked out in the green :(  My hubby took one look at him and thought he was wearing a cammo snowsuit?! LOL, oh well, maybe on that next inking I'll give him a little more color!!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend ahead of you!!

I'm Thankful For You

Uh Oh!!!  I just now realized this morning that I had no Thanksgiving cards made with all the hubbub that's been going on with the past couple of storms in the past couple of weeks!!! And, I just realized we're less than a week away from the big turkey!  YIKES!  So what did I do?  I did what any responsible housewife would do, that's what!  I made a card and blew off the loads of laundry that are literally screaming at me to get done ;)

I used the current weekly sketch at MFT for inspiration along with the stamp set from Pure Innocence called Turkey Time.  Just the cutest thing ever!

I used some very old My Mind's Eye dp that I had laying around and paper pieced her little dress with it to match.  The rest of her is colored in Copics.  The flower was layered with some flowers I had in my stash, which I added a button to, and finished it off with The Twinery twine in Flax that I picked up from the MFT store.  This little cutie and the sentiment were then distressed with some Tim Holtz Vintage photo.  I also whipped out my Fiskars Treading water punch to add a little something special.

Well it's off to make some more and maybe do some  laundry ;)  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Mini Album Post Sandy

Hello my crafty friends!  It is soooooo good to be back on my blog and in my craft space, you have no idea!!!   The past two weeks have been quite a disaster here in Jersey being hit with the horrific and life threatening Hurricane Sandy only to be followed by a tremendous Nor'Easter this past week.

My family lost power as the eye of Sandy hovered over us.  I can honestly say that I was scared while the storm hit, bundling up the kids in whatever hats/gloves/scarves we could find and heading into the basement for safety with water and non-perishables. We continued bundled for 4.5 days; battling a 59 degree house day and night; living off pop-tarts and non-perishable items.  We lost our phone, internet and cable - cell phone towers were hit hard so calls were unable to connect or dropping when they actually did.  Thank God for my battery operated radio - it was a lifesaver and chance to feel that we were still connected to life.

We are so lucky and blessed that that was the worst we endured here in my town.

After Sandy hit and we braved the power outtage that time, we got hit with another storm only 2 days after getting our power back on - this one bringing a foot of snow and more flooding.  We then lost our power for another 3.5 days....reliving the craziness of the last week.  It has been quite emotional to say the least.

Anyway, I am finally able to sit down peacefully and create..much needed therapy lemme tell you!  We have a birthday party to go to this Sunday for my husband's cousin's daughter who turned 1 recently, and I thought I would make another mini album and stick a gift card inside it.  I used the tutorial from Marla over at Lake Avenue Design's YouTube video, which you can find by clicking here.

Here is the front cover constructed with chipboard and covered in patterned paper.  There is also the side view tied up in some lavender gingham ribbon I had in my stash:

Here is what the album looks like as soon as you open it up:

Here is a shot of the album expanded and all the photo mats that are tucked into pockets can be used to hold wallet size photos.

Let me tell you, the directions were simple and so was this album to make - I did most of it in one day while the kids were in school.  They make such a cute little gift idea, don't you think?!

Only 20 minutes from our house is the actual shore where homes have been destroyed and our beaches and boardwalks were washed away. There are so many of us in Jersey that are now homeless, without food, clothing, toys for their children, etc.  My husband has quite a few friends that have been left with nothing.  A severe blow right before the holidays.   It makes me sad knowing that a lot of the places where I made some of the best childhood memories are gone for now until they have the opportunity to rebuild and restore what was lost.  So if you have some extra change laying around and feel it in your heart to give, here is a link to the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund.  I'm thanking you in advance if you choose to donate -it would be a tremendous help to those suffering the continuing, devastating effects of this storm.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Too Cute to Spook!

Hello all my crafty friends!!

The Halloween bug finally bit !!  With only a week left, I finally surrendered and made a little Halloween card using one of my all-time favorite Bugaboo images, Hween Brat Witch, which you can find in the Bugaboo Stamps store by clicking here .

I used the current sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

and the current October Monthly Challenge over at Bugaboo which is a fun little bingo challenge:

I chose the center line - twine, sentiment and orange & black for inspiration:

This little cutie was colored in Copics and her cheeks highlighted with my Tim Holtz Inkssentials White Opaque Pen.  I put some EK Success foam squares to help pop her off the matted circle.  The papers are oldies but goodies...some Martha Stewart The Essentials circa 2010, lol.  I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the cobweb border at the bottom.  A Studio G sentiment stamp inked in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, a button and black twine from my stash, and voila...Happy Halloween!

Hope the rest of your day is fabulous!

You Leaf Me Breathless

Good morning my bloggy friends!  How was your weekend?  Hoping you had a fabulous one!  We had a birthday party to go to on Saturday for my brother's step-daughter who just turned 4 *love that age!* and it was a beautiful day yesterday here in Jersey - perfect for hauling the kiddies to the park.  :)) There was also a wee bit of time to get a quick card in ....one that fits the bill for the October Monthly Challenge over at Whimsie Doodles!

The challenge this month is called It's Fall Ya'll and your creation has to depict some sort of fall activity!  Easy peasy especially when Whimsie is generous enough to off this cutie in their freebie section of their store, which you can find here.

As you know, I'm sort of a sketch junkie and used the current October sketch over at SFYTT which was a lot of fun to play along with:

And here is my take:

As soon as I saw this cute little face and chuckled at the adorable matching sentiment, I thought of my hubby and had to make him a cute little card just because.  The papers were leftovers that I've had for years from K&Company - one of my fall favorites and decided to paper piece his little baggie with it, too.  I colored him up in Copics and used a Sharpie poster paint pen to highlight his little cheeks.  The leaves were cut on my Cricut Expression and embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  All the papers, image and leaves were distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Hopefully this gives my main man a little smile :)

Dream and Wish Big

Happy Saturday my stampin' friends!!

I got some delicious new papers from my friend Gina (thank you girl!!) and, of course, as soon as I saw them, I fell in love and had to use them right away.  Luckily for me, we had another birthday this week so I was able to use that as an excuse to get out these new papers and play!

The paper line is from Pink Paislee and it's called London Market.  The cardstock is a mix between DCWV The Linen Closet cardstock stack and DCWV self-adhesive stack.  All the papers were distressed with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The pearls, both large and small, were by The Paper Studio and the flowers are Prima.  I used some Tim Holtz tickets, my Fiskars Treading Water Punch, and cut a butterfly out with my Cricut Expression and distressed that in the Vintage Photo ink as well.  The yummy ribbon is a Bubblegum grosgrain ribbon from MFT.  Of course, this little Maggie was colored in Copics and popped off the matted circle with some EK Success foam squares for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you enjoy your weekend to the fullest!

Born to Be Wild

Get your motor running....head out on the highway.....lookin' for adventure...

I've had that song in my head since I started coloring up this fabulous image called Born to Ride from Karen's Doodles, lol.  Don't chase me down if it's stuck in yours now, too, lol!

Our friend's birthday is this week and he's a biker dude.  Naturally, I thought of this image that I won over a year ago and have not been able to use.  I think it's quite perfect for him!

Sadly, Card Positioning Systems *CPS* is having their last challenge and  it's a fun one.  You get to pick your favorite sketch to use as inspiration.  I went with Sketch #45 for mine and here it is:

And here is my card using that sketch flipped:

Now you'll have to forgive me because the map and roadsign dp was in my stash and I have no idea who it is by.  However, what was cool about those papers were those little license plates were on a coordinating piece of paper.  I fussy cut them out of the paper, and adhered them to a thicker piece of cardstock to make a more durable embellie!  He and his bike are decked out in Copics, but his bike got a good wax with some Glossy Accents :)  I also used some of my DCWV The Linen Closet cardstock stack.  Everything has been distressed with Making Memories black ink!

Hope you have a great day today!!  I'm off to try and rid this song outta my head!

Hello Cupcake

Morning friends!

I had a friend that had her birthday over the weekend but between extra curricular activities for all the kiddies and errands; and, and, and, lol, I just didn't get around to making her anything until yesterday.  Once the girls got on the bus yesterday, Mommy ran faster then you could say cardstock into her crafty space and whipped up a card and a matching little mini album for her :)

I based the card on the current Wednesday Stamp Club sketch from My Favorite Things on SCS.  I know, I've been doing a lot with their sketches and stamps.  I just really love their fun sketches and adorable stamps, but I promise I have some other things I've worked on that I'll be able to post soon :)

So here is the current sketch for this past week which luckily I managed to play along with just in the nick of time.

And here is my card using the MFT Pure Innocence stamp called Hello Cupcake:

Isn't she precious?  I LOVE her.  I colored her with my Copics on some Copic Xpress It paper and then fussy cut her and propped her on her mat.  The sentiment is from Studio G.  Since I really didn't have an embellie that looked right to me for this card, I made the flower by cutting out different sized circles, distressing them with my Tim Holtz distress tool, and then embossing them with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  Voila, perfectly matching flower :)  Which if you know me, its all about matching :)  The papers are from DCWV The Linen Closet Collection and of course, my favorite at the mo, Recollections The Neapolitan Collection *yum*.

Here are some pics of the mini album I created for my friend as well.  The album was from Close to My Heart, was pre-cut, and also included an clear acetate page.  I used most of the scraps from the card I made which was perfect way to get rid of them!

Here is the front cover of the album.  Another sentiment from Studio G.  I made the felt rose myself.  I don't have a rolled rose die but figured out from Pinterest how to do one without one!  Yay :)

And the whole set, card and album together!  Cute, right?

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful day ahead of you !

MFT Guest Designer Contest!

Morning friends!!

My Favorite Things is running a Guest Designer Contest through October 15th over at SCS for all you MFT fans!  The winner will win an amazing opportunity to win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-Namics as well as play along with the Design Team for the upcoming new release and ALL the Wednesday Stamp Club challenges for the next month!  Wow, right?  Being such a huge fan of MFT, I had to play along and give it a try!  If you love MFT as much as I do, click here to check out all the deets so you can enter too!!

For my entry, I followed the sketch that was provided in the contest which was so much fun to play with

and decided to make a card using the stamp set called Pure Innocence Home Sweet Home for my brother and his fiancee who just moved into their new place together.  I think the set is absolutely adorable and perfect for the happy occasion.

I stamped this cutie on some Cryogen paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and partially colored her in Copics.  I slightly distressed the image with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  Her cute little jacket and skirt I paper pieced to match the background papers by Wassau and American Crafts.  The gorgeous "bubblegum" grosgrain ribbon is from MFT as well.  The brown cardstock was embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and then punched with the Fiskars Treading Water punch.  The sentiment is from the set, too, and was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Lots of luck to all the entrants and hope you have a wonderful day!

Kindness Matters

Goooood morning!!!  :)))

Recently my daughter turned 13...wow, I seriously cannot believe how fast that went!!  It seems like yesterday I held her in my arms for the first time and now she's into perfume, bling and makeup!

We had a slumber party for her here with 7 of her closest friends - it was a night of candy, cupcakes, tie dye tee shirts, and teen music.  I decided to make the cupcake toppers to match her peace, love and happiness theme using my cricut and some bazzill cardstock:

I also lost quite a few hours of sleep and some hearing, lol, but she had a blast and got lots of cute little goodies!

So of course, with all those presents, it was time for Mom to start whipping up some thank you cards since sadly my stash is depleted!

I used a new set that I got from a friend called Kindness Matters from Stampin' Up for this cute thank you card:

Nothing ultra fancy, but it has to be mailed!  And here is the inside:

Super simple - and something that can easily be made in multiples rather quickly!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!!

Baby Mini Chipboard Album

Hi everyone!  How are you doing today?

Remember the baby card I made a few posts ago for our neighbors that had a baby boy?  If you  missed it, you can view the card here.  Well, I had to get them a little gift to go with the card and I thought to myself: self....why buy something when I can make something for them!  And that's when I figured that I would try my hand at a mini chipboard album since I've wanted to do one for quite some time now and watched countless videos on how to do them on youtube during my surgery recovery.

This would probably be a good time to get a cuppa something, lol.  I've got a lot of photos and some descriptions to go along with each photo!  You'll have to be kind though, as this is the first time I'm photographing a mini and had no idea really had to capture it just right.  So here goes...the front cover:

The chipboard already came scalloped, but it was a light kraft color.  I decided to apply two coats of white acrylic paint to every piece of chipboard to match the Authentique Journey papers I used.  Plenty of ribbons, Michael's Recollections flowers *I took the pearls out and replaced them with aqua gemstones to match*, a sprig of Magnolia gems and Momenta dimensional stickers completed the cover.  The sentiment is from the TPC STamps Beautiful Baby Boy clear stamp set.  On to the next page:

Here I personalized this photo page with some Making Memories glittered stickers and some self-adhesive gemstones.  Next up is the baby info page:

The stamp is from the same set as mentioned above.  I found these Making Memories metal stickers at Tuesday Morning and thought they were perfect.  Mom can use the tag to journal or add a small pic on the tag.   Next page I just matted a small square for a baby pic - the stamp is from the TPC Beautiful Baby Boy clear stamp set as well.  I colored the outline of the star in Copics.

Here is one of my favorite pages.  It's a little interactive as you'll see in the next shot.  The flower is Prima with a little bling in the center:

Open this up and voila!  Two photo mats with a little bling to accent the pics Mom chooses to include here.

Next page is for another tag to journal on, or to add some important things like a newspaper clipping or a lock of hair.  I made the flower using a Prima flower and a Recollections flower together.  The swirls were cut on my Cricut and accented by some bling.

Next up:  Just a page to add a photo of the baby.  The flourished metal corners are stickers by Momenta.

Another page to add a darling photo of the baby.

And last but not least, I made a library pocket for the last page.  There are two photo mats inside the pocket for baby pics or journaling.  There is still room for more if Mom has something else she wants to add.  The back cover is just some more matted Authentique paper so that it can lay flat!

Well thats all there is to that.  I hope I've inspired you to try a mini chipboard album.  It was tons of fun and I'm already thinking of more to make for upcoming birthdays, Christmas or just because.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

~hugs
