Here comes Santa Claus

Well not yet but I'm amazed at how fast its approaching.  And scared, too, lol!

I have been making Christmas cards in an attempt to beat the rush and decided to use this adorable Santa Tilda that has been screaming to get inked!

Little Tilda is colored in Copics and then I used a White Sharpie Poster Paint Pen for her cheeks.  Her fluff on her Santa hat has been smothered in Diamond Stickles!  I used some old Martha Stewart Christmas papers along with DCWV cardstock.  The mistletoe and loopy circle die cut were cut with my Cricut Expression.  I then added some Xmas Red Stickles to the berries.  The green craft seem binding is also Martha Stewart and the red/white twine is from American Crafts.  The big red button I've had in my stash for a long time and was the perfect addition.

What about you?  Have you started those Christmas cards yet??

Hoping you have a fabulous and crafty weekend!

Spooktacular Challenge at Little Miss Muffet!

Good morning all my crafty peeps!

I was super excited to have been asked to Guest Design over at Little Miss Muffet's challenge blog for the current challenge which starts today!

And what exactly is that challenge you might ask?  Well, as Halloween is right around the corner, the theme is "Spooktacular"!  Fun and festive, right??

If you don't have a LMMS image, no worries!!  You can stop by the store by clicking here.  They have some pretty adorable digi's and stamps that are perfect for this fortnight's challenge *and some on sale, too*!

For today's creation, I used the precious digital image called Swings 'n Slides Lil' Spook:

So cute, right??  I would give this little cutie some extra candy if he showed up at my door, for sure! :)

I printed him out and colored him in Copics.  The papers are a mix of DCWV cardstock and some very, very old K&Company Halloween papers that I have had in my stash forever.  The Halloween ribbon and button are stash items, too!  I cut a cobweb corner SVG file using my Cricut Expression and used some American Crafts twine to finish it off!

The winner of the challenge will receive a $10 gift certificate to the LMMS store which you can use toward some new digi's, rubbah or toward some cool dies.  You have nearly two weeks to play along!  We hope to see you there!

Christmas with Edwin

I just saw on Facebook someone post a Christmas countdown - and did you know there are like 60 something days until Christmas??  WHAT???  Ruh-roh!  Gotta get those Christmas cards done then!

I used this adorable Edwin and Christmas-fied him up.  Why not right?

Here is he - all decked out in Copics, some Diamond stickles on his wings and a Sharpie White poster paint pen for his cheeks.  The papers are a mix of textured Wassau cardstock and My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland designer papers.  I used up some old buttons in my stash along with The Twinery twine.  Some adorable Christmas tree die cuts and a sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

Have you got your costume ready?

Out of our three girls, we've gotten two down!  One of my daughters has decided to be Tinkerbell and her twin sister is going as a 50's girl.  So super sweet.  Now I just have to get my teenager done, and I'm ready for Halloween.  I'm feeling ahead of the game this year...woot, woot!

'Course all that costume shopping put Momma in the mood to make a Halloween card, and this adorable little Tilda helped me do just that!

I used some old Halloween designer paper and card stock scraps that have been in my stash for years  - I think it might be K&Company, but don't quote me on that!  The black and white twine is from American Crafts and the black button was another stash item!  The black self-adhesive pearls are Recollections, and, of course, she is colored in Copics!  I also put some foam squares underneath her to make her pop off the card!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a fabulous day!

Rock that Bookmark

Afternoon peeps!!  I have another bookmark to share with you today.  My girls came home from school yesterday and saw the Maggie one I had myself, and of course, they wanted one too!  If you missed that post, click here to see it!

The current monthy challenge over at Some Odd Girl is "Ombre".  Any way you can use it on your project is a-ok!  The spark went off in my head and thankfully this time it worked out on paper how I imagined, and I'm so happy with how it turned out:

I used the Music Mae stamp set from SOG for my daughter's bookmark, which you can find in the SOG store by clicking here.  I colored her hair ombre-style with E and B/BG copics.  The music notes and sentiment came with the stamp set.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp up the background with both and then distressed the edges of the bookmark in Studio G turquoise chalk ink.  There are three Queen & Co. Twinkle Goosebumps in lime green framing her head.  To finish it off, I used a velvety trim ribbon!

Hoping my teen daughter loves this bookmark as much as I do, or I just might confiscate it ;)

Book Lovin'

Aside  from coloring and crafting, reading is right up there on my list of things that I absolutely LOVE to do.  And I'm one of those readers that absolutely refuses to buy a Nook or Kindle for many reasons; one of them being that I love bookmarks as much as a good novel!

I picked up a new book yesterday called The Paris Wife and am lovin' it!!  Click here if you wanna check it out for yourself!

Unfortunately the time came yesterday when I had to stop reading (boo!), and of course, what do I do??  Tear off some paper and stick it in my place.  Totally unacceptable!  LOL, so this morning, I made myself a new bookmark!  Why buy a bookmark when you can easily make one??

The current challenge over at Magnolia-licious is to NOT use any designer/pattern paper.  So, I took a piece of shimmer cardstock from DCWV, rounded the corners, and stamped off a wood-mounted, Recollections, music-note stamp in Rich Cocoa by Memento.  I then distressed the bookmark in Vintage Photo by Tim Holtz.  I cut a doily in half and distressed that as well.  On top of the doily, I glued down a white feather and then pop dotted this little cutie on top.  To finish off the bookmark, I added a self-adhesive rhinestone swirl, and some pink silk ribbon from my stash!

Now I have something pretty to enjoy besides my new book :)
